What is Lent really all about? The knot of a tree gives us a clue.

Luke 13:1-9
Luke is the main Gospel writer who stands up for the lowly in society. He is delicate towards women, the poor and the outcast and has earned the title, ‘the evangelist of God’s tenderness’. He tells us how Jesus was often criticised for mixing with sinners and how he responded with phrases such as, “It is not those who are in health who are in need of the physician, it is those who are sick”. Perhaps Luke is implying that there is another group in need of help; those who are very well in the eyes of the world but are urgently in need of repentance. Is the parable of the Fig Tree  a comparison of this.?
